Fusilli al Ferretto is one of the newest addition to the Rustichella d’Abruzzo pasta selection. It means literally “fusilli wrapped on a needle”.
This very traditional Calabrian shape is made by wrapping the pasta dough around a needle as long as a knitting needle. The pasta resembles soft hair curls, with a length twice as long as spaghetti.
Traditionally served with very spicy sauces and meat ragù.
Pairs wonderfully with a tomato sauce made with the typical Calabrese sausage ‘nduja.
Serve with a simple sauce such as aglio olio e peperoncino to enjoy the incredible texture and flavor.
