Soupie, as its known in Pennsylvania’s Anthracite Coal Region, is an Italian cured spicy sausage containing cayenne, paprika, and heavy doses of salt. Our Fire Salt blend pays homage to the beloved Soupie, and can be used where salt and a spicy-hot flavor boost is needed. Try it on popcorn!
Individually hand-blended from:
Cayenne Chiles, Hungarian Hot Paprika, and Kosher Salt.
How this blend is hand-made:
First, we hand-remove the bitter seeds and stems of whole Cayenne Chiles so that only the chile fruit remains. Then, we slow toast the whole Chiles over a fired cast-iron skillet, before freshly grinding the whole Chiles and Paprika into a fine powder. Lastly, we hand-blend them together with our Kosher Salt crystals to produce our Fire Salt Blend.
