Travel to the French-Canadian city of Montréal and you will undoubtedly find this coarsely ground spice blend coating the meats sold throughout the city’s numerous delicatessens. This spice blend is one of our favorites for applying to meats, especially beef and poultry, and its strong flavor will have you asking for seconds! Anytime we need to add some flavor to beef dishes, this is our go-to blend.
Individually hand-blended from:
Coriander, Crushed Red Pepper Flakes, Dill Seeds, French Thyme, Garlic, Kosher Salt, Onion, and Tellicherry Black Peppercorns.
How this blend is hand-made:
First, we slow toast whole Coriander seeds, and Dill seeds over a fired cast-iron skillet to bring out the spice’s volatile oils. Then, we coursely grind these spices, along with Black Peppercorns, and lastly, hand-blend all of the spices together to produce our Montréal Blend.
